About the Department
The Department of Statistics, Jaipuria College came into existence in 2009 with Undergraduate General course. Under CBCS, the department offered generic courses for Economics, Mathematics, and Computer Science honours students. Under CCF-2022, in academic session 2023-2024, the subject statistics is offered as a Minor subject for Economics, Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science Major Students and as an interdisciplinary course to all B.A/B.Sc. students. However, we have a seat limit because of the high demand ratio.
The college library has a vast collection of rare books along with the latest titles, catering to different areas of specialization in Statistics. The department also encourages students to use internet resources as study aids. The faculty includes specialists in diverse areas of Statistics such as survey sampling, time series analysis, and econometrics. The current number of faculty is two. Besides teaching, they have also been pursuing research. The overall performance of students in this department has been consistently of a high standard.

Good Academic Record – Last 5 years no backlog candidates. Many of our students scored more than 80 % in University examinations.
